# OpenFHE-Python: BFV Threshold

SetThresholdNumOfParties expects the total number of parties and is used to generate the parameters. For a t-out-of-n setting where t \< n, please see the description of [threshold decryption with aborts](https://github.com/openfheorg/openfhe-development/blob/main/docs/static_docs/Threshold_FHE.md#threshold-decryption-with-aborts) and a small example [here](https://github.com/openfheorg/openfhe-development/blob/main/src/pke/unittest/UnitTestMultiparty.cpp#L790) to understand the kind of capability currently implemented in OpenFHE.
